IEEE Medals

Edison Medal
To recognize a career of meritorious achievement in electrical science or electrical engineering or the electrical arts.

Prize: Gold medal, small gold replica, certificate, and $10,000.

Lamme Medal
To recognize meritorious achievement in the development of electrical or electronic apparatus or systems.

Prize: Gold medal, bronze replica, certificate, and $10,000.

Founders Medal
To recognize major contributions in the leadership, planning, and administration of affairs of great value to the electrical and electronics engineering profession.

Prize: Gold medal, bronze replica, certificate, and $10,000.

Medal for Engineering Excellence
To recognize achievement of exceptional application engineering in IEEE technical disciplines to benefit the public and the profession; to an individual or team of not more than three.

Prize: Gold medal, bronze replica, certificate, and $10,000.

IEEE Standards Medallion
The IEEE Standards Medallion is awarded for outstanding achievement in the development and implementation of standards within the technologies of the IEEE.

Prize: Medallion affixed to marble paperweight and a framed certificate
Basis for Judging: Recipients are selected solely on the basis of their accomplishments in standards work.  They need not be members of IEEE, and their contributions may be to standards of other national and international standardizing bodies, providing such standards are in the technical fields covered by the IEEE and constitute a significant contribution to the profession.
